Gray Monk 2019 Odyssey Pinot Gris

This Pinot Gris has a slight copper hue due to the skin’s rosy-grey colour. A rich, ripe fruit aroma of melon, red apple and pear is accented by a touch of spice. This smooth, slightly rich, medium-bodied wine has amazing texture and mouth-feel.

Flavours of juicy pear and baked apple caress the palate. Notes of red apple, juicy melon, tropical fruit and a touch of spice and citrus linger on the finish.
Critical Acclaim Silver Medal – British Columbia Lieutenant Governors Wine Awards 2019.
Wine Making Pinot Gris grapes were hand-picked from our Estate Vineyard (Block 16) from some of the oldest vines in British Columbia (approximately 40 years old). The Pinot Gris grapes were gently pressed and cool fermented. Fifty percent of the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks for pure fruit expression and the other fifty percent was aged in older French oak barrels for fifty days on lees with battonage (lees stirring). A partial malolactic fermentation was performed to soften the acidity and round out the mouth-feel. Limited production of 400 cases.
Wine Analysis Sweetness Level: (0) Dry, 1.68 g/l Alcohol: 13.0% Total Acidity: 6.98 g/l Size: 750ml
